Don Zimmerman, President and Founder

After earning his college degree, Don Zimmerman acquired a decade of contracting, engineering and management experience with a large commercial elevator & escalator company. By the mid-1980s, he became aware of the need to separately market the new lifting products being introduced to the elevator/lift industry. In 1985, Don founded Home Elevator of Texas for that purpose. After just two years in business, he added vehicle conversion equipment to his product line.

Involved in the elevator and lift industry for over 23 years, Don knows what it takes to develop satisfied customers for life. “Make sure the customer knows what they are purchasing and that they are happy with their choice,” says Don. “The equipment must then be thoroughly engineered, accurately installed, properly turned over for use and serviced to the customer’s satisfaction — for life.”

Doug Zimmerman, Vice President

After serving in the US military, Doug Zimmerman began his career in the elevator and lift industry building elevator systems for a large commercial elevator company. Two years later, Doug joined his brother Don at Home Elevator, refining his talents in the construction, service and trouble-shooting areas of the business.

In addition to helping run the family business, Doug continues to receive factory education from Home Elevator’s equipment suppliers, honing his expertise in field installations and trouble-shooting. With over 17 years of industry experience, Doug believes that you must “do it right, or don’t do it at all.”

In 2001 Larry began his sales position while working dual duties as both mechanic and sales representative. In 2003 Larry was again promoted to the position of Residential Sales Manager for the central and southern territory. As a member of the Home Elevator of Texas team, Larry has one simple philosophy “Provide the best product and service for each client at the best possible price.”
